is an engineer, inventor, and sailor. He earned a
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University and an
M.S. in Oceanography at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He came
to Makani from Scripps, where he was designing wave-powered ocean
instrument systems and high-speed shipboard winch systems. He is a
design generalist with skills in mechanical design, software
programming, field experimentation, data analysis and numerical
modeling. He previously worked at Segway LLC creating control
algorithms and hardware for the Segway Human Transporter and at DEKA
Research and Development designing medical devices. In his spare time
he builds neon sculptures and rides anything with two wheels. |
