 Don Montague co-founded Makani Power with Saul Griffith. Don has been a pioneer and innovator in both kite-surfing and kite-boating. His experience as a professional windsurfer in the World Cup Tour and then a professional kite-surfer has put him on the cutting edge of research and development in these sports for the past 25 years. From his tenure as Head Sail Designer at Gaastra Sails and subsequently, Head of Research and Development for Naish International, sporting goods designed by Don continue to sell millions around the world. He holds multiple patents and has patents pending in the sporting industry and energy systems. Don was responsible for the development of software that revolutionized the way kites and sails are both designed and manufactured. He has received multiple titles and awards for competition and design. Don has frequently been featured in and contributed to magazines, movies, and TV productions internationally. |
